I Dream, Therefore I Am
When your imagination is more ‘real’ than reality itself.
It Starts With a Thought
I’m sitting in my room.
It’s intriguing how everything I see
from the walls, to the table, to the coffee mug,
was originally a thought.

I open the curtains.
It’s intriguing how everything I see
from the cars, to the buildings, to the shopping malls,
was originally a thought.

So is it too foolish
if everything I see
from the trees, to the birds, to the clouds,
was originally
a thought?

Is it too absurd
that everything I cannot see
from the planets, to infinity, to the coincidence of meeting each other,
being friends and forming couples,
was originally
a thought?

And is it too irrational
that everything I call me,
from my personality, to my skills, to my level of confidence,
was originally
a thought?
MY THOUGHT.

And as I’m sitting in my room,
I think of everything I could be,
with the power
of a single thought.
A New Year’s Resolution is like pressing on a button that says:
“I am ready for change”.
And just like magic,
I have already changed.
Because I know it’s not a dream,
as fleeting as it may seem;
what I can visualize,
I can crystallize.
You’re Already In The Future
But if resolutions are so inspiring, why do we keep falling?
Perhaps we have an unhelpful vision of time.
We have separated ourselves from the future,
thinking it’s unattainable,
and we have to strive for it…
We’re not there yet.
But maybe your future
is actually your present,
for your present
is actually your past, solidified.
So does it make sense
that thinking about your ideal self
requires being yourself,
today?
If you’re already in the future,
you can allow yourself to live
as if it were New Year’s Day
every single day.
When we make a resolution,
most of us think:
Do more in order to be.
But what if we saw it this way?
Be more in order to do.
If you want to create,
what if you saw yourself as a creator,
so that every morning, you’d be making art
effortlessly?
This is my resolution:
I want to dream more.
I want to be more. The doing will come as a side effect.
Well-being is The Prerequisite, Not the Goal
I don’t have to wait for success,
for visible progress,
or even happiness,
in order to be happy.
I might feel tense, worried, or desperate,
But when I’m aware of it,
I can allow myself
to forget it.
How?
It’s nice to meditate,
but it’s not the only remedy;
trying to get rid of your thoughts
is not necessary.
You can enjoy:
Slow walking
Life reflecting
Sunrise feeling
Calm music listening
Pleasant memory recalling
Future event anticipating
Singing
Dancing
Joyful pictures collecting
Peaceful identity cosplaying
Noticing where an emotion is stored in your body,
making a statement on the attitude you’d like to embody,
a list of the places you’d like to navigate,
the talents you’d like to incarnate,
the creative project you’d like to build,
the life purpose that would make you fulfilled.
I believe that dreams
really do come true.
If they are already true
in your mind
they can become true
through your eyes.
I was frustrated because
I didn’t allow myself to be happy,
forgetting that my frustration
was originally
a thought.
If I am well today,
despite the highs and lows,
I am well tomorrow,
and so it goes…
Trust the spiral of your heart, for it is exciting
to be constantly evolving.
Let the machine start.
