Why You’ll Never Change
Story: You decide to make a radical transformation.
The reason you’ll never change:
Because you think change has to be painful. That it has to invoke blood, sweat, and tears. And well, it’s true: losing your old self implies death. If you identify too much with the past, then ‘killing it’ is going to hurt.
But if you remain the same forever, you’re also dying.
It’s a lose-lose situation.
Sometimes, I wonder if I could have mental surgery.
Imagine waking up so refreshed, so full of energy. In fact, the new self is not new. It’s quite old, actually. It’s who you were truly meant to be. It was begging you to be since childhood.
Sometimes, wisdom is not acquired; it’s forgotten as we get older.
You don’t want to become someone else.
Maybe you still want your personality, your sensitivity, your quirks, dreams, and creativity. In case no one told you:
You’re allowed to take up more space.
You’re allowed to be more of yourself.
